First up was Laurie Palmer’s “Battle Royle”, featuring six skateboards, a town hall square and plenty of action. The two rival gangs of skaters, portrayed by the younger members of OCT, got the chance to demonstrate skills learnt in recent stage combat workshops. For history enthusiasts, “The Crucifix” by Jack Coates explored an Ottery family’s view of the English Civil War between the Cavaliers and Roundheads. Then it was time for Jill Machin’s “The Knitting Circle”, which starred four ladies of a certain age who meet up weekly for a knit and chat - but some begin to crave something a little less routine. The audience also enjoyed a delicious Ploughman's supper and biscuits.
OCT donated a share of profits from the performances and all money from the raffle to Hospiscare, a wonderful charity that provides care and support for people with terminal illnesses.

Huge congratulations to Norma Palmer for winning the Rose Cumming Memorial Trophy for Diction and Expression when we performed "The Knitting Circle" at the Exmouth One Act Plays Festival!
